About Your Holistic Home
Hi — I'm the person behind Your Holistic Home. I write under this name rather than my own, because the whole point of this place is that it stays soft, small and quiet.
I've been a highly sensitive person for as long as I can remember — the kind who feels a room before entering it, who carries a stranger's bad day home like a borrowed coat, whose body keeps score of every fluorescent light and every raised voice. For years I thought the answer was to think my way calm. It never worked. What finally helped was much humbler: tiny, body-based rituals — a longer exhale than inhale, warm water over my wrists, bare feet on the kitchen floor, one lamp instead of the big light. Small signals of safety that a wound-tight system actually understands.
That's what I share here: the practices that help my own busy system settle, soften and ground — nothing more dramatic than that. I'm not a doctor, a therapist or a clinician, and I never pretend to be. I'm someone with a loud nervous system and a decade of quiet experiments, writing for people whose systems run the same way.
How we create these practices
Every ritual on this site starts as something I actually do in my own home. Before anything is published, it goes through the same slow filter: I live with a practice for weeks, notice what my body does with it, strip away anything fussy, and keep only what a tired person can realistically do on a Tuesday evening. Then I write it up in plain, gentle language and check every draft against one rule — we describe how a practice helps a system settle, never claim it will fix, cure or treat anything. If a topic belongs to medicine, we leave it to medicine.
A gentle note
Everything here is a wellness practice, not medical advice. These are the small rituals that help a busy system settle — if you're struggling, please reach out to a qualified professional. You deserve real support, not just a nice exhale.
